I'm glad you were able to make it to the tweetup! When we did our rounds of introduction, I was intrigued to learn that most of your business has come from Twitter, as you also mention in this post. You also balance it out by saying that Twitter is not a Get Rich Quick marketing vehicle, which is a much-needed dose of reality. I think we all have a lot to learn from your insight and experience. I hope we can expand on this topic in future tweetups!

I agree wholeheartedly with what you posted! Too many people are trying to use twitter to hard-sell, and people feel the same way about that as they do about spam.

Show people you're a person first. A human-being, not a selling-machine.

Wish I'd been at the Tweetup, instead of strapped to the dentist's chair! :)

Thanks, Jennifer! Twitter's a great tool, but only when used thoughtfully.

Great post! You're absolutely right...Twitter is ALL about relationships. And when we connect, and contribute, we have the ability to connect to people that can lead to future business. It's certainly not a get rich quick type of application. But it does make sense in a long-term strategic relationship strategy.

Cheers!
