I feel like I’m barely catching my breath these days. I’m not complaining, mind you. I get more accomplished when I have deadlines to meet, and lately I’ve had more deadlines than usual! I just wrapped up “work” work for today, and figured I’d take a little break to blog. Plenty of “home” work to do next!
Nick’s 8th grade graduation is tonight. Must remember to bring tissues, I’m already getting emotional about this one. Nick’s known a lot of his classmates since they were 4 years old, and I’ve made a number of friends among their parents, which is in stark contrast to Andy’s class (that’s another post!)
I know they’re all going to be together for 4 more years of high school, but that’s a big regional school, and this is just a small town. Nick’s class has around 120 kids, and his is one of the larger ones.
The rest of the week involves Mom’s Taxi getting a work out. The official last day of school is Wednesday, but the school hours and bus schedule are all wacky. Both Nick & Tim have parties to attend, and it’s going to be hot, so a trip or two to the pool will probably be in order, and Tim has camp in the mornings at the end of the week. Next week we’ll settle into summer rhythm, but this week is Adjustment Week.
Meanwhile, I’ve been neglecting my online life, and I owe email to a bunch of people. I have a text file of things I want to blog about but haven’t had time to get to. I’m desperately trying to learn how to use my new Mac so I can transfer everything over to it.
I’m only about 1/3 of the way through my book club book, and our meeting is in two days. I have a ton of yard work that needs to get done, I still haven’t planted any annuals or bought the new foundation plants I want.
None of this is unusual for me, mind you. I always have a list of things I want to do that’s much bigger than time allows. In fact writing it all out like this makes it more likely that I’ll get organized enough to get most of it done. I should spend some time getting that better organized, too, might be time to revisit Getting Things Done!
Now I can at least cross Pay Attention to the Blog off my list for today!
Wow, can’t believe the kids are just now getting out of school! Seems like mine have been out forever! I know what you mean about doing better with schedules (especially in a time frame). I think I’m taking the rest of today off, I have to go back to work tonight, so no “housework” for me this afternoon!
Next Action: Blog
